MCP Enrichment Proxy

The MCP Enrichment Proxy is Bot It’s core Pro feature. It sits between AI agents and your Shopify store’s Agentic Storefront, enriching every product query with your brand context, narratives, and review data.

How It Works

1. An AI agent sends a tools/call request for search_shop_catalog
2. Bot It intercepts the request at mcp.botitai.com
3. Your brand context (summary, voice, shipping, returns, collection keywords) is injected into the search query
4. The enriched query is forwarded to Shopify’s native MCP endpoint
5. Shopify returns product results
6. Bot It appends product narratives and review data to each result
7. The enriched response is returned to the AI agent

What Gets Injected

Into the request (brand context):

• Brand summary and voice
• Shipping and returns narratives
• Custom instructions
• Matched collection narrative (if query keywords match collection keywords)

Into the response (per product):

• bot_it_context — narrative, fit notes, materials, use cases, comparison notes, complementary products
• bot_it_reviews — average rating, review count, summary, top quotes

Logging

Every proxy request is logged with:

• Tool name called
• Search query text
• Whether brand context was injected
• Whether response enrichment was applied
• Response time in milliseconds

You can view these logs in the Analytics dashboard.

Search Gap Tracking

When a query returns zero results, Bot It logs it as a “search gap.” This helps you identify what AI agents are looking for in your store but can’t find. View search gaps in your analytics dashboard.

Your Proxy Endpoint

Each store gets a unique proxy URL based on a 64-byte hash. You can find your proxy URL on the MCP Proxy page in your Bot It dashboard.

Plan Availability

The MCP Enrichment Proxy is a Pro feature. On the Free plan, discovery files are served but queries are not enriched.
