Installation
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- A Shopify store (any plan)
- Admin access to your Shopify store
Install from the Shopify App Store
Section titled “Install from the Shopify App Store”- Visit the Bot It AI listing on the Shopify App Store
- Click Install
- Review the permissions Bot It requests and click Install app
- You’ll be redirected to the Bot It dashboard inside your Shopify admin
What Happens During Installation
Section titled “What Happens During Installation”When you install Bot It, the following happens automatically:
- OAuth authorization connects Bot It to your store securely
- Webhooks are registered to keep product and collection data in sync
- Discovery files are enabled (agents.txt, llms.txt, commerce.txt, UCP manifest)
- A brand context template is seeded with placeholder values for you to customize
No theme changes are made. Your storefront looks and behaves exactly the same.
Permissions
Section titled “Permissions”Bot It requests the following Shopify permissions:

| Read/write products | To access product data for narratives and enrichment |
| Read/write content | To sync narratives to Shopify Knowledge Base metafields |
| Read analytics | To surface AI agent traffic data |
| Write pixels | To register the bot traffic detection pixel |
